A mixed starter pack of approximately 40 tropical leaves for topping planted vivariums, terrariums, paludariums and suitable invertebrate cultures.
Why leaf litter matters
Leaf litter is more than decoration. It creates physical cover, provides habitat and feeding surfaces for detritivores, and adds organic material to decomposition processes as leaves age.

Humidity wording
Leaf litter can shade damp substrate and slow local evaporation, but we do not claim that adding leaves automatically maintains or regulates enclosure humidity. Overall humidity and moisture depend on ventilation, temperature, substrate, planting, misting and enclosure design.
Use
Inspect and rinse/prepare the leaves before use as appropriate. Mix different leaf sizes and top up the layer as it decomposes. Remove contaminated food or waste rather than relying on the leaf-litter layer to absorb it indefinitely.

Leaf litter can provide cover, feeding surfaces for detritivores, organic material for decomposition and local moisture retention. Breakdown rate varies greatly between plant species, individual leaves and enclosure conditions.
Some Terminalia catappa extracts show antimicrobial activity in laboratory assays, but that does not establish that ordinary dried leaves in a frog vivarium prevent infection, suppress mould reliably or improve amphibian skin health. We therefore describe tannins and botanical use without turning in-vitro extract results into veterinary claims.
