Claims corrected
The old listing described mangrove leaves as among the toughest and longest-lasting tropical leaves, said they outperform temperate leaves, regulate humidity, maintain ecosystem balance and are automatically amphibian-safe because they have been professionally treated. Those claims are too broad.
Leaf toughness and decomposition rate vary by plant species, leaf age, batch and enclosure conditions. Tropical origin does not by itself establish superiority over suitable temperate leaves. Treatment/cleaning is also not the same thing as toxicological proof of amphibian safety.
Preparation
Inspect and rinse/prepare leaves before use as appropriate. Do not use material with suspicious residues, persistent chemical odour or heavy contamination. Top up or replace the leaf layer as it decomposes.
