Description
Dwarf White Boost โ Supplementary Isopod Culture Food
A supplementary dry food used by Frogfather with dwarf white isopod cultures and other suitable small terrestrial isopods.
What it is for
- Supplementary feeding alongside suitable leaf litter, decaying wood and other appropriate colony foods.
- Routine culture maintenance during growth and reproduction.
- Easy spot-feeding so uneaten food can be monitored and removed.
We have removed earlier claims that this formula is proven to cause faster reproduction, stronger moults, healthier shells or cleaner tanks. Food quality matters to isopod growth, fecundity and survival, but we do not have controlled product-specific trials demonstrating those outcomes for Dwarf White Boost.
How to use
Offer a small amount in one area and reduce the quantity or frequency if food remains. Maintain the moisture gradient, refuge and substrate appropriate to the isopod species. Continue to provide leaf litter and suitable structural foods rather than treating a powdered supplement as the colony’s entire diet.
Frogfather practice
This blend reflects what we use in our own cultures. Our observations of good culture performance are husbandry experience, not a guarantee of a particular breeding rate or moult outcome in every colony.
Isopod & Evidence Review
Last reviewed: 5 September 2026
Terrestrial isopods are well-established detritivores and can contribute to leaf-litter fragmentation, decomposition and nutrient cycling. That does not mean a colony will remove every form of animal waste or make an enclosure maintenance-free. Population performance depends on food, moisture, temperature, refuge, substrate and the species concerned.
