Bring the wonder of the rainforest to your home with our Mossy Frogs, a truly one-of-a-kind amphibian species that thrives in bioactive setups. Known for their textured, moss-like skin and unique ability to blend seamlessly into their environment, Mossy Frogs are not only fascinating to observe but also easy to care for in the right setup.
We currently have 10 Mossy Frogs available, each bred and raised with the utmost care to ensure their health and vitality. These frogs are perfect for bioactive vivariums and thrive in humid, tropical environments.
Key Features:
- Scientific Name: Theloderma corticale
- Appearance: Textured green and brown moss-like skin for incredible camouflage.
- Size: Adults reach approximately 3–3.5 inches in length.
- Behavior: Semi-aquatic and nocturnal, providing fascinating activity in their habitat.
Ideal Habitat:
Mossy Frogs require a humid bioactive vivarium with plenty of vertical and horizontal space. Pair them with features such as:
- Water features or shallow pools for semi-aquatic behavior.
- Live tropical plants for naturalistic cover.
- A misting system can be used to create appropriate wet/drier cycles while retaining good ventilation; avoid treating 70–100% RH as a constant universal target.
Recommended vivarium size: 45x45x60cm or larger.
Care Requirements:
- Temperature: 22–26°C during the day; slight nighttime drop to 18–20°C.
- Moisture: provide species-appropriate humid refuges and useful ventilation; avoid a permanent fixed-RH target.
- Diet: Live insects such as crickets, fruit flies, and small roaches.
- Lifespan: 10–15 years with proper care.
Why Choose Our Mossy Frogs?
- Healthy and Active: Our frogs are bred and raised in optimal conditions.
- Planted-enclosure use: potentially suitable where the species’ aquatic/arboreal needs are met; the enclosure remains actively managed.
- Limited Availability: With only10 available, secure yours today before they’re gone!

Climate & Husbandry Review
Last reviewed: 5 September 2026
Temperature, moisture and ventilation requirements are species- and life-stage-specific. Relative humidity is useful for monitoring trends but should not be treated as a universal single-number target: enclosure airflow, substrate and leaf-litter moisture, access to wet and drier microhabitats, temperature and sensor position all affect the conditions experienced by the animal.
Avoid prolonged overheating, stagnant saturated conditions and rapid environmental swings. Where additional heat is required, provide controlled gradients and monitor temperature at animal level. Frogfather’s own misting schedules are practical husbandry methods rather than universal biological requirements.
