Unlike a freshly built setup that needs time for its plants to root and its microfauna populations to establish, this particular vivarium has already been growing and developing for nine months.
The result is a beautifully established miniature ecosystem, complete with natural cork bark, climbing opportunities, lush foliage, leaf litter and an active bioactive clean-up crew.

What makes this vivarium special?
Nine months of natural establishment
This vivarium has been allowed to mature over nine months, giving its plants time to develop strong root systems and its bioactive inhabitants time to establish themselves.
All plants are rooted and growing within the environment, rather than having been freshly planted for sale.
The combination of natural cork, established foliage, climbing structures and leaf litter creates a varied environment with both vertical and ground-level opportunities.
A complete bioactive clean-up crew
The vivarium comes with its existing populations of beneficial microfauna, including:
- Springtails – helping to break down decaying organic matter and manage fungal growth.
- Tropical white isopods – working within the substrate and leaf litter to recycle organic material.
- Grindleworms – contributing to the living substrate ecosystem and providing an additional potential food source for suitable inhabitants.
Together, these organisms help support the natural decomposition processes that make bioactive vivariums so rewarding.
Suitable for arboreal and terrestrial species
The design combines vertical climbing opportunities with a planted, leaf-littered floor, making it adaptable to a variety of appropriately sized arboreal and terrestrial animals.
The cork structures, established plants and shaded areas provide opportunities for climbing, exploring and sheltering.

The vivarium already has an opening for a misting system, should you wish to install one.
However, given its manageable 45 × 45 × 60cm dimensions, it can also be maintained through regular hand misting.
No automatic misting system is included.

Although the vivarium has been established for nine months, you should first install any required lighting, heating, UVB and monitoring equipment, then verify that the environmental conditions are suitable and stable for your chosen species.
Can the vivarium be delivered?
No. This established living vivarium is available for collection only from Nottingham. Courier and postal delivery are not available.
