Choose the exact established dart frog vivarium you want from the photographs. These are not example photographs and we will not build a similar vivarium after you order. You are purchasing the actual fully planted, mature bioactive vivarium shown.
For our Sunday Sale, we are releasing two of our established 45 × 45 × 60 cm dart frog vivariums at a reduced price simply to free up some much-needed space at Frogfather HQ.
Both vivariums are already fully planted, bioactive and established, with mature tropical plants, natural hardscape, living moss and established populations of microfauna. Each also includes built-in drainage, a partially glass-covered top with approximately 40% mesh ventilation, and a Wi-Fi hygrometer and thermometer for remote environmental monitoring.
Only one of each vivarium is available. Once it has sold, that particular vivarium is gone.

Vivarium 1 – Silver Jungle
A lush, densely planted tropical dart frog vivarium with mature silver foliage, moss, climbing plants and substantial natural timber hardscape.
The established planting creates numerous shaded areas, climbing routes, visual barriers and sheltered areas throughout the enclosure. This is the more densely planted of the two available vivariums and has the appearance of a mature tropical forest understory.

Vivarium 2 – Moss Forest
A beautifully established bioactive vivarium centred around extensive living moss and a dramatic arrangement of natural timber.
The hardscape provides multiple levels and climbing routes, while established tropical plants weave through the timber. Deep green moss across the foreground contrasts particularly well with the silver-green and purple foliage.

A Genuinely Established Bioactive Vivarium
There is a considerable difference between buying an empty vivarium, building a bioactive setup and immediately introducing frogs, and purchasing an enclosure that has already had time to develop as a living ecosystem.
These vivariums have already been planted and established. Roots have grown into the substrate, moss has colonised surfaces and populations of microfauna are already living and reproducing within the enclosure.
The established clean-up crew includes springtails, Grindal worms, tropical white isopods and Orange Panda isopods. These organisms help process organic material within the bioactive environment while also providing additional opportunities for natural frog foraging behaviour.
Rather than waiting for a freshly planted enclosure to grow in, you can take home an established ecosystem that already has the appearance and biological maturity that can take considerable time to achieve from scratch.
Built for Dart Frogs
Both vivariums have been developed specifically with dart frog husbandry in mind.
The 45 × 45 × 60 cm dimensions provide a useful combination of floor area and vertical space, while the planting and natural hardscape create multiple usable levels throughout the enclosure.
Dense planting and timber provide visual barriers, sheltered retreats and climbing opportunities rather than leaving the frogs exposed in an open enclosure.
The top combines approximately 40% mesh ventilation with glass coverage, helping provide ventilation while retaining the humid environment required by tropical vivarium inhabitants.
Wi-Fi Temperature & Humidity Monitoring & lighting Included
Every vivarium includes a Wi-Fi hygrometer and thermometer and a Light.
This allows you to monitor temperature and humidity remotely and makes it considerably easier to keep an eye on environmental conditions throughout the day.
For anyone new to dart frogs in particular, being able to monitor the enclosure provides useful reassurance and makes it easier to identify unusual changes in temperature or humidity before they become a problem.
Optional Wi-Fi Smart Misting System
Want an even more automated setup?
You can add a Wi-Fi smart misting system to your vivarium at additional cost.
This allows misting to be scheduled automatically and controlled remotely, complementing the included Wi-Fi temperature and humidity monitor.

Optional Leucomelas Dart Frogs
These established vivariums can also be supplied with suitable Leucomelas dart frogs at additional cost, subject to availability and our normal livestock requirements.
Dendrobates leucomelas are an excellent choice for this style of established vivarium. They are active, attractive dart frogs that make good use of both the floor and the structure provided by the planting and hardscape.

The frogs are an optional addition and are not included in the base vivarium price.
Buying Frogs Too? We’ll Include the Frog Care Package
If you purchase Leucomelas dart frogs with your vivarium, we’ll also include a Frogfather Frog Care Package to help you continue their care at home.
Your frog package includes:
- Appropriate frog food
- Frogfather dusting mineral supplement
- Clay bath
- Frog hide
- Water dish
This means you can collect your established vivarium, frogs and essential care products together rather than having to source everything separately.
Why Are These Established Vivariums Reduced?
Quite simply: we need the space.
There is nothing wrong with either vivarium. Frogfather HQ contains a large number of established vivariums, breeding enclosures and ongoing projects, and occasionally we need to make room for something new.
Rather than dismantling mature bioactive vivariums that have already developed into functioning ecosystems, we would much rather offer them to somebody who can enjoy them exactly as they are.
That is why these particular enclosures are being offered as part of our Sunday Sale at a reduced price to free up space.
The Vivarium in the Photograph Is the One You Receive
This is important enough to repeat.
These are photographs of the actual vivariums being sold.
You are not buying a generic “planted vivarium” based on a stock photograph. When you select Silver Jungle or Moss Forest, you are selecting that particular established enclosure.
Of course, these are living ecosystems. Plants and moss will continue to grow, leaves may change and the enclosure will naturally continue developing over time. That is part of owning a mature bioactive vivarium.

- Complete your order and arrange collection with us.
There is only one Silver Jungle and one Moss Forest vivarium available. Once either enclosure has been purchased, that option will no longer be available.
Collection Only From Nottingham
These vivariums are collection only from Nottingham.
They are established living ecosystems containing plants, moss, substrate, microfauna and substantial natural hardscape. We therefore do not dismantle them and put them through a parcel courier network.
Collection also gives us an opportunity to talk you through the enclosure and, where frogs are purchased, their ongoing care and husbandry.
Skip Months of Growing-In
Creating a natural-looking bioactive dart frog vivarium isn’t particularly difficult. Creating one that looks genuinely established takes something rather less easy to buy: time.
These enclosures have already had that time.
