We have temporarily paused new orders for dart frog and tree frog delivery. All other Frogfather products and services remain available as normal.
For several years, we have successfully used Ridgway Couriers to transport our frogs without issue. They recently paused their usual service because of staffing shortages, although we hope they will be operating normally again within the next few weeks.
During that pause, we used another authorised animal courier. Unfortunately, a number of frogs they collected were not delivered, and we have since been unable to contact the courier. We are now pursuing the matter formally through the appropriate legal channels.
This situation is deeply upsetting for us. Our greatest concern is the welfare and whereabouts of the frogs. We sincerely hope they remain alive, well and properly cared for while we work to establish exactly what has happened.
What This Means for Existing Orders
Any frog orders already placed with us will still be honoured. Our preferred courier currently has a small amount of capacity and is helping us fulfil existing orders safely, although deliveries may take longer than usual. We will contact affected customers directly as arrangements are confirmed.
Why We Have Paused New Orders
Animal transport is carried out by independent, authorised couriers. Although we carefully choose the companies we work with and set clear welfare expectations, the collection and delivery logistics are ultimately outside our direct control once an animal leaves our care.
The Frogfather has always been driven primarily by our passion for the animals rather than by sales. Animal welfare comes first, and we would much rather pause new frog deliveries than risk another animal or cause further disappointment and worry for our customers.
We are genuinely sorry that this decision has become necessary. New frog delivery orders will remain paused until we are satisfied that we have a safe, dependable and properly controlled service in place.
Everything Else Continues as Normal
This temporary pause applies only to deliveries of dart frogs and tree frogs. Orders for dry goods, plants, microfauna, vivarium supplies, 3D-printed products and all other non-frog items continue as normal.
