This professionally planted 50cm x 50cm x 60cm tall bioactive vivarium has been grown in and maintained to create a thriving tropical ecosystem centred around a stunning feature bromeliad display. The enclosure provides excellent vertical structure, elevated resting areas and natural water-holding leaf axils, making it a potentially suitable layout for selected Ranitomeya and other small arboreal dart frogs when the particular species, group size and social behaviour are appropriate. There is no single scientifically established enclosure dimension that is appropriate for every dart frog, tree frog or other tropical species. Enclosure suitability depends on adult body size, activity, climbing or terrestrial use, territorial and social behaviour, group size, ventilation, usable planted space, refuge availability and the keeper’s ability to maintain stable environmental conditions.
