Description
Fire Salamander (Salamandra salamandra)
The Fire Salamander is one of the most recognisable amphibians in the world. Native to forests across mainland Europe, these remarkable salamanders are famous for their jet-black skin decorated with vivid yellow markings, making every individual unique.
Unlike many frog species, Fire Salamanders are predominantly terrestrial and spend much of their time exploring leaf litter, moss and fallen wood. They are particularly active following rainfall and are well suited to bioactive woodland-style enclosures.
These captive-bred specimens are feeding well and have been raised under controlled conditions, making them an excellent choice for both experienced amphibian keepers and those looking to expand beyond frogs.
