We currently have 21 captive-bred White’s Tree Frogs available, all well-started, feeding confidently, and raised in carefully maintained captive conditions.
White’s Tree Frogs (Litoria caerulea), also known as the Australian Green Tree Frog or Dumpy Tree Frog, are one of the most popular pet frogs in the UK reptile and amphibian hobby. Known for their calm temperament, chunky appearance, expressive faces, and hardy nature, they make an excellent species for both beginners and experienced keepers alike.
These frogs are captive bred in the UK, helping to ensure they are well-established, feeding strongly, and adapted to life in captivity from an early age.
Why Choose Captive-Bred White’s Tree Frogs?
- Strong feeding response and established juveniles
- Captive-bred stock – no wild-caught imports
- Excellent display frogs with bold personalities
- Hardy and forgiving species for newer keepers
- Ideal for tropical arboreal vivariums
- Suitable for bioactive setups
- Raised with correct supplementation and husbandry
White’s Tree Frogs are famous for their relaxed behaviour and interactive nature. Unlike many shy amphibians, they are often visible during the day and quickly become confident around routine maintenance and feeding.
Housing & Care
White’s Tree Frogs thrive in vertically orientated tropical vivariums with plenty of climbing branches, cork bark, foliage, and elevated resting spots. They appreciate moderate-to-high humidity with good airflow and benefit from a clear day/night cycle.
As opportunistic feeders, they readily accept a variety of appropriately sized live foods including crickets, locusts, roaches, and occasional treats such as waxworms.
We strongly recommend a properly supplemented diet and a well-maintained enclosure with fresh dechlorinated water available at all times.

Climate & Husbandry Review
Last reviewed: 5 September 2026
Temperature, moisture and ventilation requirements are species- and life-stage-specific. Relative humidity is useful for monitoring trends but should not be treated as a universal single-number target: enclosure airflow, substrate and leaf-litter moisture, access to wet and drier microhabitats, temperature and sensor position all affect the conditions experienced by the animal.
Avoid prolonged overheating, stagnant saturated conditions and rapid environmental swings. Where additional heat is required, provide controlled gradients and monitor temperature at animal level. Frogfather’s own misting schedules are practical husbandry methods rather than universal biological requirements.
