Description
The Bri Bri Poison Dart Frog is a morph of Oophaga granulifera, originating from the lowland rainforests of Costa Rica. This small, terrestrial species is known for its bright coloration, diurnal activity, and fascinating breeding behaviors. Males are territorial and produce distinctive calls to attract mates or defend their space.

Vivarium Size:
Minimum of 30x30x45 cm for a single frog. Larger enclosures are recommended for more enrichment.
Temperature:
Daytime temperatures between 22-26°C, with a slight drop to 18-22°C at night.
Humidity:
Provide species-appropriate humid refuges and useful ventilation; do not use a sealed enclosure or permanent fixed-RH target as a universal rule.
Lighting:
Low to moderate lighting. LED lights are sufficient for plant growth and to replicate natural daylight.
Substrate:
Use a bioactive substrate mix with leaf litter to replicate the rainforest floor.
Décor:
Add live plants like bromeliads, mosses, and vines, as well as driftwood or cork for climbing and hiding.
Water:

Bioactive Setup:

Poison-frog social systems differ substantially between species and can also change with sex, maturity, breeding condition, enclosure structure and individual temperament. A group that appears stable as juveniles may not remain compatible after sexual maturity.
Do not treat “pair”, “trio” or “group” as a universal stocking rule. Provide visual barriers, multiple feeding and refuge areas, monitor body condition and behaviour, and have a separate suitable enclosure available if persistent chasing, wrestling, exclusion from food or shelter, weight loss or other signs of incompatibility develop.
