This Clip-On Fruit Fly Feeder Lid was designed to fix that.
It clicks securely onto a standard fruit fly culture and lets you control exactly how flies are released – whether you’re dusting them with supplements, feeding normally, or leaving the culture in the tank as a slow feeder.
Three Ways to Use It
1. Clean Tap-Out Feeding
Tap flies directly into your supplement cup or feeding container without opening the culture lid and letting flies escape everywhere.
2. Easy Supplement Dusting
Tap flies straight into calcium or vitamin powder for fast, clean coating before feeding your frogs.
3. Holiday Feeder Mode
Place the culture inside the vivarium and allow flies to exit gradually through the ventilated openings – useful for gradual release, but not a substitute for arranging appropriate animal care and checking food availability when you are away.

Published amphibian nutrition research shows that cultured feeder insects can be low in calcium and some vitamins, and that dusting and gut-loading can improve nutrient delivery. However, feeder composition and supplement retention vary considerably.
