Every morning starts the same in my frog room — a quiet check-in to see how everyone is doing before breakfast. Some of the daytime dart frogs are already calling, staking their territory and warming up their voices for the day. Others are perched on leaves or glass, waiting for the morning feed.
This routine is a good chance to check on their health, activity, and the conditions in each vivarium. A lively call or an eager frog hopping out for food is always a reassuring sign. Keeping a close eye on behaviour is one of the best ways to make sure everything is balanced — humidity, temperature, and diet.
If you’re new to dart frog keeping, you’ll quickly learn that mornings are often the most active time. Watch the video below for a glimpse into my own check-in, and listen out for those first calls of the day!
