Sticky-Back Vivarium Sliding-Glass Door Seal – 1m
A clear self-adhesive strip designed to reduce the gap between overlapping sliding glass vivarium doors.
What it can help with
- Reducing some feeder-insect escape through a suitable door gap.
- Reducing direct air exchange through the sealed section of the door.
- Providing a simple low-profile barrier without drilling the glass.
Escape-proof wording corrected
The previous listing described the strip as an “escape-proof” solution for fruit flies and other micro-feeders. No adhesive door seal should be treated as a universal escape guarantee. Actual containment depends on the size of the remaining gaps, door alignment, strip placement, adhesive bond and the size/life stage of the insects or animals being contained.
After fitting, inspect the entire enclosure—not only the sliding-door overlap—for gaps around vents, cable entries, lid edges and corners.
Humidity wording corrected
Reducing one door gap may reduce some moisture loss, but the strip does not “maintain humidity”, stabilise climate or replace appropriate enclosure ventilation. Humidity depends on temperature, ventilation area, substrate, planting, water input and room conditions.
Installation
- Clean and fully dry the glass.
- Measure the overlap and trim the strip if required.
- Apply firmly without obstructing normal door movement.
- Open and close the doors several times and check that the strip cannot peel into the enclosure.
- Reinspect the adhesive periodically in warm, humid conditions.
Adhesive note: this listing supplies a self-adhesive strip. Frogfather does not recommend adding a separate adhesive unless it is appropriate for the materials and enclosure use and has fully cured before animals are exposed.
