Description
The Yellow Phyllobates terribilis, often referred to as the Golden Poison Frog, is one of the most recognisable and sought-after dart frogs in the world. Known for its bold colouration, calm confidence, and larger adult size, it has long been a favourite among experienced keepers.
What makes these juveniles particularly special is their proven pure yellow lineage. Over many years in captivity, yellow Phyllobates terribilis have frequently been unintentionally cross-bred with green or mint forms, meaning that genuinely pure yellow lines are now exceptionally uncommon. The parent frogs of this group are true yellow × yellow, with no known cross-morph influence.
As with all Phyllobates terribilis, juveniles hatch with darker pigmentation. These youngsters are now at the stage where that darker coloration is visibly fading, and the characteristic bright yellow is beginning to emerge — a clear indicator of their genetic background.
These juveniles have been raised carefully, are feeding strongly on appropriately sized live foods, and are well suited to keepers looking to establish a future breeding group or simply keep one of the most iconic dart frog species available.
