The Yellow-Bellied Toad (Bombina variegata) is a bold, hardy, and incredibly entertaining amphibian species, well known for its vivid yellow and black underside and active daytime behaviour.

These captive bred youngsters are ideal for both beginners and experienced keepers, thriving in bioactive paludariums with a mix of land and shallow water.


๐ŸŒ Natural Habitat & Behaviour

Native to Central and Southern Europe, Yellow-Bellied Toads are typically found in temporary pools, forest edges, and shallow water bodies.

Unlike many amphibians, they are active during the day, making them a fantastic display species.

When threatened, they display their famous โ€œunken reflexโ€, arching their body to show off their bright warning colours.
