Vestigial-Wing Drosophila melanogaster Subscription – Go Large Culture
A recurring supply option for wild-colour vestigial-wing Drosophila melanogaster cultures.
Feeder use
These small flightless fruit flies are practical feeders for appropriately sized dart frogs, froglets and other small insectivores. Feeder insects vary in nutrient composition, so fruit flies should be used within an appropriate supplementation programme.
Life-stage wording corrected
- Newly made: recently started culture with most production still ahead.
- Intermediate: developing culture with visible larval/pupal activity.
- Mature: culture at or near active adult production.
These stages describe culture condition at dispatch; they do not guarantee a precise emergence date, “maximum production window” or fixed remaining lifespan.
Go Large performance
The larger culture format provides more media and culture volume than a standard tub. We no longer claim it automatically gives higher fly volume, stronger sustained hatch cycles, fewer reorderings or dependable performance every time. Output varies with strain, inoculation, media, temperature, age and transit.
Subscription
A subscription helps stagger culture supply, but it is still sensible to keep cultures at different stages and maintain a backup rather than relying on one delivery.
