Confirmed Male Brazilian Dendrobates tinctorius
Adult Brazilian-form Dendrobates tinctorius males offered as individually sexed animals based on repeated calling and adult traits.
Sexing
Regular advertisement/courtship calling provides strong evidence that these particular animals are male. We have removed the sales phrase “100% sexed” because biological sex assessment should not be marketed as an infallible laboratory guarantee.
Breeding use
A confirmed male can be useful for an appropriate pairing project, but it does not guarantee pair compatibility, courtship, fertility or breeding success. Introductions should be monitored closely.
Bachelor/group wording corrected
Earlier copy promoted these males for “breeding groups” and “bachelor setups”. D. tinctorius can display significant male–male aggression, so same-sex group housing is not presented as a default recommendation. House according to individual compatibility and retain a suitable spare enclosure.
Environment and feeding
Provide substantial usable floor area, visual barriers, leaf litter, refuges and a humid but well-ventilated environment. Feed appropriately sized live prey with a suitable supplementation programme.
