Frog Delivery (Ridgeway DEFRA-Registered Courier)

We use a DEFRA-registered specialist courier (Ridgeway) for frog deliveries. To keep things simple, we book the courier on your behalf so you don’t need to arrange anything separately.

Important: We do not take commission on courier fees. The courier charge is the courier charge — logistics are managed directly by Ridgeway.

How the delivery process works

  1. You place your order.
    If your order includes frogs, checkout will show the courier option and we’ll arrange the booking with Ridgeway.
  2. We book the delivery with Ridgeway on your behalf.
    This saves you the admin — you don’t need to contact the courier separately.
  3. Ridgeway plan their routes after the booking window closes.
    They typically schedule deliveries after the closure of each booking window, and this normally takes around a week.
  4. You’ll receive a text from Ridgeway around 5 days before delivery.
    The text includes a delivery date and a clear delivery time window. You’ll need to reply to confirm the slot works for you.
  5. Collection and delivery.
    Ridgeway collect the frogs from us and deliver them to you.

Delivery timing: what to expect

Because Ridgeway build multi-drop routes, the exact delivery date depends on route planning. We don’t have direct control over the final day/time once your booking is with the courier.

  • Typical timeframe: 1–4 weeks from order to delivery.
  • Most common: 1–2 weeks once the next booking window closes and routes are planned.
  • 4 weeks is unusual — but can happen during busy periods, holidays, or route constraints.

Why we do it this way

Specialist amphibian transport is different to standard courier services. Using a DEFRA-registered courier helps ensure animals are transported appropriately, with the correct handling and routing.

Confirming your delivery slot

When Ridgeway text you with the proposed date/time window, please reply promptly to confirm. If the slot doesn’t work, follow the instructions in the message so Ridgeway can try to reschedule you onto a suitable route (availability depends on their planned runs).
