August IHS Reptile Show 2025: New Venue Confirmed After June Cancellation

**Update following confirmation of a change in location***

After weeks of uncertainty, the IHS Reptile Show is officially back on — and reptile enthusiasts can mark Sunday 10th August 2025 in their calendars. Following the unfortunate cancellation of the June IHS Show, organisers have now secured a new venue, with signed contracts ensuring the August event will go ahead without a hitch.

What Happened to the June IHS Show?

The June 2025 edition of the International Herpetological Society (IHS) Reptile Show — one of the UK’s most eagerly awaited reptile and exotic pet events — had to be cancelled due to licensing and venue issues that were out of the organisers’ control. Despite best efforts and preparations, the original venue encountered late-stage administrative complications, including unclear local authority licensing requirements that ultimately led to the show’s postponement.

This sudden disruption disappointed hundreds of exhibitors, hobbyists, and visitors who had already made travel and accommodation plans, and raised concerns about the future of the IHS events.

Rescheduled for August: What’s New?

In a positive turnaround, IHS have now confirmed a new venue for the show — contracts are signed, and organisers have reassured attendees that this venue has no licensing issues and is already fully approved for hosting reptile and exotic pet events. The date is locked in for Sunday 10th August 2025, and the new location remains accessible for most attendees who had planned for June.

IHS Show Location – August 2025

Venue:
Norbreck Castle Hotel
Queen’s Promenade,
Norbreck,
Blackpool
FY2 9AA

This seaside venue is well-known for hosting large events and is already familiar to many in the reptile and exotic animal community. It offers ample space, on-site accommodation, and easy access by road or public transport.

What About June Bookings?

If you were booked in for the June 2025 IHS Reptile Show, your reservation will automatically transfer to the new August date. There is no need to rebook. Exhibitors who cannot make the August date are encouraged to contact Richard directly via email as soon as possible to discuss alternative arrangements.

IHS Groups Now Reopened

With renewed confidence in the August show, the IHS has also reopened its online groups and social channels. This gives exhibitors and attendees a chance to stay updated, connect, and begin building excitement for what promises to be one of the most important reptile shows of the year.

November IHS Show Still Going Ahead

Looking further ahead, the November IHS Show is still scheduled and will offer a second opportunity in 2025 for enthusiasts to meet, trade, and learn more about reptile keeping and conservation. The full venue details for November in Yorkshire are expected soon.

Why the August IHS Show Matters

The IHS Reptile Show is a pillar of the UK exotic pet community. These events not only showcase rare and captive-bred reptiles, amphibians, and invertebrates, but also serve as a vital meeting point for breeders, keepers, educators, and conservationists.

The successful rescheduling of the August 2025 event is a huge relief for the community and a testament to the dedication of the IHS team.

If your dart frogs spend all day hiding, you’re not alone. In the wild they live under rainforest canopies, weaving through leaf litter and bromeliads – not basking in bright light.

The fix? 🌿 More planting, natural hides, soft lighting, and the right temps (22–26°C is the sweet spot). Give them security, and you’ll see them hopping around much more often.
