Tadpole Growout – Raising Kit + Bioactive Grow-Out Tub
This package combines our tadpole-raising supplies with a prepared terrestrial grow-out tub for the transition from aquatic larva to feeding froglet.

Aquatic stage
At Frogfather we commonly use individual containers for many dart frog tadpoles because they make feeding, development and water quality easier to monitor. Requirements vary by species, however, and this should not be interpreted as the only valid tadpole-rearing method.
Catappa leaf is used in our own systems to add botanical material and a developing grazing/biofilm surface. We do not claim that catappa leaf creates a reliably antibacterial or antifungal environment or substitutes for water-quality management.
Use water of appropriate chemistry for the species. Untreated RO water should not automatically be regarded as ideal; mineral composition can affect larval development.
Metamorphosis and grow-out
As forelimbs emerge and the tail is resorbed, provide a safe, easily accessible route out of the water appropriate to the species. A smaller grow-out enclosure can make newly metamorphosed frogs easier to observe and feed, which is why Frogfather uses this approach.
The supplied springtails contribute to the bioactive system and may also provide very small prey. They do not remove the need for cleaning, observation or appropriate feeder provision.
Species matter
Development time, diet, water chemistry and rearing method differ among amphibians. Use the supplied instructions together with species-specific guidance rather than treating one temperature, feeding rate or water-change schedule as universal.

This guidance has been reviewed against published amphibian nutrition and larval-husbandry research. Tadpole requirements vary substantially between species, developmental stages and rearing systems, so practical Frogfather methods are identified as husbandry practice rather than universal biological requirements.
